First foals for Makfi
Tweenhills Farm & Stud's resident sire, Makfi, has had his first few foals. A colt out of Raisonable, a half-sister to the Gr.2 winner and Gr.1 placed Legerete and Icelips dam of Gr.1 winner Falco, was foaled at Haras des Monceaux on 20th January.
Henri Bozo, manager, Haras des Monceaux, said: "We are really pleased with our Makfi colt, he is a great looking strong colt with good bone."
Another colt by this dual Gr.1 Classic winner by Dubawi was born soon after at Kildangan Stud. Out of Kassiopeia, he is a half-brother to the Oasis Dream yearling that realised 700,000gns when knocked down to Demi O'Byrne last year.
Eamon Moloney at Kildangan Stud reported: "He is a very nice foal, and we are extremely happy with him."
Tweenhills' stud manager, David Redvers, said: "We are delighted that the first few foals by Makfi have been well received by breeders. We are also very pleased that Makfi continues to be in demand with another full and exceptional book for this season already confirmed."
Owned by Qatar Bloodstock, Makfi's second book includes Juddmonte's Champion three-year-old and multiple Gr.1 winning filly Banks Hill, a full sister to Dansili, Champs Élysées and Cacique, as well as other Gr.1 winners Frizzante and Majestic Roi.

New website for Pearl Bloodstock
Pearl Bloodstock will have over 50 horses in training in 2012, including exciting prospective three-year-olds such as Gr.1 winner Lightening Pearl, as well as Melbourne Cup winner Dunaden and 30 two-year-olds. In addition, Classic contenders Strong Suit and Harbour Watch will be running under Qatar Bloodstock's colours.

First time victories for Pearl Bloodstock
Pearl Bloodstock achieved notable 'first-time' victories over the last few days. Proud Pearl won her maiden at Laurel in impressive fashion, giving Pearl Bloodstock its first winner in USA. A full-sister to Champion USA three-year-old filly Proud Spell she has an exciting future Stateside. Also Vulcanite now heads to Cheltenham following his comfortable 7l win over hurdles at Southwell today, Pearl Bloodstock's first victory over jumps.
